There’s a difference between a residence permit and a work permit. There are residence permits with restricted work permits and those where work is allowed to the full length.
Visas / Residence permits without restriction to work (frequent cases):
Permanent residence - Niederlassungserlaubnis
Make sure your residence permit card is not expired. It is usually connected to your passport expiry date.
Spouse visa
For a family reunion with an EU citizen, a German citizen, or a third-country citizen who holds a valid employment residence permit in Germany. It’s given for a certain period of time and needs to be extended in a timely manner.
In case your residence permit is expiring but you have an appointment for extension or are waiting for one, we will need proof of it (e.g. "Quittung*"or confirmation email), which can look like this:
Job seeker visa after successful completion of a German university degree.
In case your residence permit is expiring, the proof of an appointment at the Immigration office is not applicable in your case. You will be allowed to work with us till the end of your residence permit. You can apply for another residence permit where employment is allowed, however, an employment contract with Flink is not enough to get it. Please consult an immigration lawyer or search for information on the website of your local Immigration Office (Ausländerbehörde/ Ausländeramt).
If you've already had your appointment but you still haven't received your documents, you should have received a letter that looks like the one below. Please send us a copy to show your extension.
